LAND OFFICE. No. S. 233.-It is hereby notified that the following Sales of Crown Land by Public Auction will be held at the Police Station, Au Tau, at 12 Noon, on Thursday, the 4th day of November, 1915.

The Lots are sold for the term of Seventy-five years from the 1st day of July, 1898, with the right of renewal for a further term of 24 years less 3 days at a re-assessed Crown Rent, Nos. 1, 2 and 3 as Building Lots, No. 4 as a Threshing Floor Lot and No. 5 as a Drying Ground, subject to the General Conditions of Sale published in Government Notification No. 365 of 1906 and to the Special Condition No. 5 published in Government Notification No. 278 of 1911. Nos. 4 and 5 are further subject to Special Condition No. I published in Government Notification No. 697 of 1909.

The amount to be spent on each of the Building Lots in rateable improvements under the General Condition No. 5 is $100.

MEDICAL DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 234. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Medical Department Contract", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 31st October, 1915, for the supply of Aerated Waters; Bedding and Clothing; Beers, Spirits, Wines, etc.; Spirit of Wine; Chemicals, Drugs, Surgical Instruments and Sundries; Furniture, etc.; Milk, etc.; Provi- sions; Sundries; and Washing (Schedules Nos. 1 to 10) required locally by this Depart- ment, for the period of one year from the first of January next inclusive.

Tenders may be made for the 10 Schedules, or for each separately.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $200 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such refuse to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.

The Contractor will be required to enter into a Bond for the fulfilment of his con- tract, and for the supply of all articles of the best quality.

The Contractor for Schedules Nos. 7 and 8 will be required to deliver the supplies for the Victoria Hospital for Women and Children at the Hospital in Barker Road (Peak).

The Contractor for Schedule No. 8 will be required to supply store accommodation, ample enough for the housing of provisions, and this store must be kept in a sanitary condition.

The Contractor for Schedule No. 10 will be required to collect the bedding and clothing at the Civil Hospital and Victoria Hospital for Women and Children in Barker Road (Peak), returning the same to these institutions when washed.
