by the Patents Ordinance, 1892, have been duly filed in the office of the Colonial Secretary of Hongkong, and that it is the intention of the above-named ALEXANDER ESPLEN by Messrs. DENNYS & BOWLEY, his agents to apply to His Excellency the Governor-in- Council at 9.30 a.m., on the 15th July, 1915, for Letters Patent for the exclusive use within the Colony of Hongkong of the said invention.

UDGMENT CREDITORS of the HOP HING

LOONG firm of Hongkong, Contractors, who have obtained garnishee orders against Messrs. PALMER & TURNER for the attachment of the debts due by them to the said HOP HING LOONG firm are hereby informed that the sum of $2,000 with interest which was paid by Messrs. PALMER & TURNER to the undersigned on the 17th March, 1915, will be handed over by the undersigned to Mr. FONG HON PAK alias SHING TAK TONG unless legal proceed- ings are commenced in Hongkong for the recovery of the said sum by any of the said creditors before the expiration of one month from this date and at the same time notice of such proceedings is given to the undersigned.

Application for Registration of Trade Marks.

OTICE is hereby given that A. LOPATO SONS, LIMITED, (a Company Register- ed under the laws of Hongkong) of 18, Bank Buildings, Victoria, in the Colony of Hong- kong, Tobacco Manufacturers, have on the 11th day of June, 1915, applied for the registration in Hongkong, in the Register of Trade Marks, of the following Trade Marks :—

(1.) This Trade Marknsists of a scroll panel attached the to three rosettes and across the centre of the panel in

Russian characters the word " King's Own" is printed. At the foot the Company's name appears in Russian characters.

(2.) This Trade Mark consists of a circu- lar landscape design in which is depicted a Turkish scene and in the foreground a man in Arabian Costume walking towards a building. On the right are a Minaret and Mosque with palm trees interspersed at the left and on the slope a man is sitting. Below is water with a boat close in shore. The distant view shows land sloping down to the water. At the top of the panel in Russian charac- ters is the word "Furbesh” and at the bottom the Company's name “A Lopato Sons".

(3.) This Trade Mark consists of two panels. In the one on the left is depicted a Swan with foliage in the background.

At the top of this panel in Russian characters is the word Swan". In the centre of the right panel are the Russian characters for the Company's name A. Lopato Sons."

(4.) This Trade Mark consists of a panel in the centre of which is the Rus- sian word for “Duchess" decorated with scroll and conventional flowers. At the foot of the panel are the Rus- sian characters for the Company's name A. Lopato Sons."

(5.) This Trade Mark consists of a panel in which is depicted the figures of three men in evening dress standing arm in arm smoking. At the top of the panel in Russian characters is the word " Friendship" with two medals in the left hand corner. At the foot of the panel in Russian characters is the name of the Company "A. Lopato Sons."

(6). This Trade Mark consists of a panel in the centre of which is depicted the figure of a pierrot in fancy costume sitting on a chair holding in his hand an instrument. At the top of the figure in Russian characters is the word " Solo,”

(7.) This Trade Mark consists of the exaggerated figure of a man with wide open mouth holding in his bands a spread out flag on which is depicted in Russian characters the name of the Company A Lopato Sons." In his open mouth in Russian characters is the word Hurrah.” In the back- ground appears a rectangular shaped cigarette package.

(8.) This Trade Mark consists of two panels. In the one on the left is depicted the figure of a Soldier hold- ing a trumpet in his right hand to his mouth. At the top of this panel in Russian characters are the words "Cigarettes" "Dawn". In the centre of the right hand panel are the Russian characters "Cigarette Fac- tory Havanna "A. Lopato Sons, Limited, in Harbin, Kitaiskaja.”

in the name of A. LOPATO SONS, LIMITED, who claim to be the proprietors thereof.

The above mentioned Trade Marks have respectively been used by the Applicants since June 1914. all in respect of "Manufactured Tobacco, in Class 45.

Tobacco Manufacturers, have on the 20th and 26th days of February, 1915, applied for the registration in Hongkong, in the Register of Trade Marks, of the following Trade Marks:-

(1.) This Trade Mark consists of a panel on which is depicted the figure of a youth sitting and flying on aeroplane with a pile of various sized boxes in front of him supported by his left arm. (3.) This Trade Mark consists of a panel over which a White Sea Gull is depicted flying-At each side of the panel are hanging palm leaf scrolls with charms. At the top in a separ- ate inset is depicted in Russian Characters the word "Extra in an olive-shaped panel and above in Russian Characters the words "Cigarettes" and “1st quality". (4.) This Trade Mark consists of a panel made np of a square and portion of a circle in which is depicted two Corn- flowers. At the top of the panel in Russian Characters are the words and figures Cigarette second quality" and immediately underneath in Russian Characters the word "Corn- flower"-The reverse side consists of an elongated panel on which is depicted at the top four medals and obliquely the Russian words for the name of the Company "A. Lopato & Sons

in the name of A. LOPATO SONS, LIMITED, who claim to be the proprietors thereof.

The above mentioned Trade Mark No. 1 has been used by the Applicants since June, 1914, and by the old firm of A. LOPATO SONS since November, 1913; the above mentioned Trade Marks Nos. 2 and 3 bave respectively been used by the Applicants since June, 1914, and the above mentioned Trade Mark No. 4 is intended to used by the Applicants forthwith, all in respect of Manufactured Tobacco, in Class 45,

The Applicants disclaim the right to the exclusive use of the word in Russian Charac- ters *

Extra" appearing in the above men tioned Trade Maik No. 3.
