The Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog-signals are sounded only during thick or foggy weather unless otherwise stated. The depths given are at mean low water springs. The heights given are above high water springs.

China Sea-Tong King Gulf.

Hainan Strait, eastern entrance--Breakers reported.

Position. In Middle channel, southward of North bank.

Latitude 20° 18' N., Longitude 110° 55′ E.

Details. Heavy breakers were observed, apparently indicating the existence of a

rock or reef, in approximately the position given above.

Note: A note, "Breakers reported (1914)," is to be inserted on the charts in this

locality.

Puerto Galera Mindoro.

RANGE marks consisting of white triangular shapes with black vertical stripes through centre have been established in Puerto Galera harbor, on the bluff south of the south end of Medio Island, to mark the channel through the north-west passage. Marks in range South 56° East, true, lead in clear of all dangers.

The fixed red light is now shown from the centre of the front mark.

Establishment of Illuminated Tide Gauge off Tide Pole Light Station.

NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 17th March an illuminated tide gauge will be established off the Tide Pole Light Station.
