No. 222.-Information has been received from the Military Authorities that Gun Practice will be carried out as under:--
On Thursday, 22nd March:-
From High West in a Westerly direction, at ranges up to 8,000 yards, com- mencing on conclusion of practice from Pinewood (about 3.30 p.m.) and finishing at 5 p.m.
On Monday, 26th March: --
From Boa Vista on to Mount Collison and Tytam Bay, at ranges up to 8,000
yards, commencing at 10 a.m., and finishing at 1 p.m.
If the weather is unfavourable on either of the above dates, practice will take place on the following day.
All ships, junks and other vessels are to keep clear of the ranges.

No. 223. The following notice has been issued by the Marine & Fisheries Depart- ment, Victoria, B. C.
A fixed white light visible about nine miles from all points of approach seaward has been established by the Government of Canada on Amphitrite Point, west point of Barkley Sound, Vancouver Island. The light is an automatic 31 day Wigham light and is unwatched.

MAGISTRACY.
No. 224.-It is hereby notified that a Meeting of His Majesty's Police Magistrates and Justices of the Peace for the Colony will be held at the Magistracy, at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, the 26th March, 1906, for the purpose of considering the following application under the Liquor Licences Ordinance, 1898, viz:-
To transfer from one H. PEICH to IANS WEISMANN the Adjunct Licence to sell by retail intoxicating liquors on premises numbered 34 Queen's Road Central and 1A Wyndham Street under the sign of "The Café Weismann and Weismann Tiffin Rooms."

PRISON DEPARTMENT.
No. 225.-Tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 24th March, 1906, for the supply of Summer Uniforms for the Gaol Staff.
Samples of uniform may be seen, and any further information obtained at the Victoria Gaol Office.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person shall refuse to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.
Forms of tender may be obtained at the Colonial Secretary's Office. No tender will be received unless sent in the form required.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
