the rank of a Sergeant) to take possession of the Dangerous Goods and store them at the expense of the owner or consignee thereof; but this rule shall not apply to Vessels carrying petroleum and lying at one of the wharves at which the discharge of petroleum is permitted, or to Vessels discharging explosives at a Government Gunpowder Depôt in accordance with the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899.

9. The Dangerous Goods Anchorages" shall (unless and until the Governor shall by notification in the Government Gazette appoint some other anchorage in addition to or in lieu of such anchorages) mean the portions of the Harbour within the following limit :-

(1.)-EASTERN ANCHORAGE.

Eastward of a North and South line, drawn through Kellett's Island. South of a line drawn from the chequered buoy marking the West edge

of the men-of-war Anchorage to North Point of Hongkong. Bounded on the East by the Western edge of the Telegraph Cable

Ground.

(2.)-WESTERN ANCHORAGE.

South of Stonecutters' Island.

West of a line from which the White Rock on Stonecutters' Island bears

North.

North of a line having the sheers at the Naval Yard at Kowloon bearing

East.

Bounded on the West by a line drawn from the West extreme of Green

Island to the West extreme of Stonecutters' Island.

10. Nothing in these Rules shall be deemed to invalidate any Rules or Regula- tions made under Section 36 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, with reference to Gunpowder and Explosives.

11. The Rules and Regulations made by the Governor in Council under the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, 1873, on the 14th day of June, 1892, and all amend- ments thereof, are hereby repealed.
