It is hereby notified that, on and after Tuesday, the 16th January, the supply of water within the area bounded by the undermentioned streets will be controlled by bringing the rider-mains into operation and that the water will be turned on to each rider-main daily for about one hour between the hours of 6 and 10 a.m. and for about one hour between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m.:—

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
NOTICE is hereby given that, Shirose Lighthouse erected on Shirose rock, Western extremity of Ojika-jima, Goto Group, Province of Hizen, Nagasaki Prefecture; Wakamiya Staff Light erected on Wakamiya-jima, Province of Iki, Nagasaki Prefecture; and Okino-shima Staff Light erected on the same named island, in Genkai-Nada (Tsushima Strait), Province of Chikuzen, Fukuoka Prefec- ture, shall be exhibited on and after 1st January 1906, under the control of the Lighthouse Bureau of the Department of Communications.
SHIROSE LIGHTHOUSE.
The position of the lighthouse according to the Japanese Admiralty Chart No. 187, is

North 33° 11' ..East 128° 48′
The Lighthouse is built of wood, square in its shape, painted white and 15 feet high from the base to the centre of lantern.
The Light is Fixed-White of 5th order and will illuminate the Entire Horizon, in which a red ray between the bearings of N. 45° 15′ E. and N. 67° 15′ E., covering "Kurai-no-se," and also a red ray between the bearings of S. 74° 45′ W. and S. 87° 45′ W., covering “Hoage-se" and an innominate rock which is 5 feet above low water.
The bearings are magnetic and as observed from seaward.
The Light, having 140 Candle Power is elevatel 115 feet above the sea, and in clear weather it will be seen from a distance of 113 Nautical Miles.
WAKA-MIYA STAFF LIGHT.
The Position of the Staff according to the Japanese Admiralty Chart No. 249, is about

North 33° 52′ 14′′ East 129° 41′ 9′′
The staff is built of wood, painted white and 35 feet high from the base to the centre of lantern. The Light is Fixed Red of the Minor and it will illuminate an arc of 251° between the bear- ings of S. 67° E. through S. W. and N., and N. 4° E.
The bearings are magnetic and as observed from seaward.
The Light is elevated 351 feet above the sea and in clear weather it will be seen from a dis- tance of 6 Nautical Miles.
OKI-NO-SHIMA STAFF LIGHT.
The position of the Staff according to the Japanese Admiralty Chart No. 250, is about

The Staff is built of wood, painted white and 36 feet high from the base to the centre of Lantern.
The Light is Fixed White of the Minor and it will illuminate the Entire Horizon.
The Light is elevated 816 feet above the sea and in clear weather it will be seen from a dis- tance of 8 Nautical Miles,
