THE master of the British S.S. Troilus reports having passed a large junk floating. bottom up in Latitude 26° 50′ North and Longitude 121° 8' East-a danger to navigation.

It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Consul-General for France that until further orders, the lights at Cape St. James and at the entrance of the Saigon river will remain unlit and will not be relighted except by the order of the Naval Commandant.

Entry into the Bay of Coconuts (Baie des Cocotiers) is absolutely prohibited between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

At night, between the times stated above, no ship must approach within five miles of the Cape. If they attempt to come nearer, a blank-round will be fired ordering them to stop. This order should be obeyed without delay, and the vessels should make her offing, there to await the regulation hour of entry.

In the day time, an officer will board all ships seeking admittance to the River, and will conduct them to the Bay of Coconuts (Baie des Cocotiers) where the examination of vessels takes place.

of New Pier at Tuticorin from 1st October, 1914.

Position.-New Pier Latitude 8° 48′ North, Longitude 78° 8-45′ East. Description.-Red fixed light, 6th order.

Elevation.-21 feet above high water.

Visibility.-8 miles.

Structure-Iron Skeleton.

Remarks. Intended as a guide to boats returning from the anchorage.
