Removal of Acetylene Gas Buoy (unlighted) at Entrance to Harbour.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Acetylene Gas Buoy (unlighted), marking the Star- board side of the fairway between the fishing stakes off Tikok village, has been removed and replaced by the former Red Buoy surmounted by a Black spherical cage.

Temporary Withdrawal of the “ Kiutoan" Gas Light-vessel.

NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 12th June the Kiutoan Gas Light-vesse will be taken in for repairs, and that the relieving Light-vessel Tienching will replace her The Tienching is a steel vessel, 83 feet in length, painted red. The light, which is exhibited. from a lantern carried by an iron trestle structure, is dioptric, of the sixth order, showing an occulting white light every 3 seconds, thus

The centre of the light is 35 feet above the water, and the light should be visible in clear weather at a distance of 10 nautical miles.

A black drum encircles the trestle below the lantern as a daymark.

During foggy or thick weather a gong will be beaten at short intervals.

If the Light-vessel is driven from her station, the usual light will not be shown, but a fixed red light will be exhibited from each end of the vessel during the night and a red flag hoisted by day.
