TRANSLATION.

Notification No. 308 of Department of Communications.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Tsuruga-ko Break-water Lighthouse on the head of the breakwater at Kanega-saki, and the Koyanokawaguchi Lighthouse at the mouth of the river Koyano, Tsuruga Harbour, Province of Yechizen, each newly established, have been exhibited as follows on and after the 11th of May, 1914 :-

TSURUGA-KO BREAK-WATER LIGHTHOUSE.

Position:-Lat. 35° 39′ 57′′ N., and Long. 136° 3′ 45′′ E. (According to the Japanese

Admiralty Chart No. 160.)

Description :-Square, iron lattice work, painted white.

Height of light :--25 shaku above the base; 37 shaku above the water.

Character of light :-Acetylene gas occulting white, light two (2) seconds, eclipse one

and a half (1) seconds.

Illuminated arc:-The whole horizon.

Candle Power: 120.

Visible distance :-10 nautical miles in clear night.

KOYANOKAWAGUCHI LIGHTHOUSE.

Position:-Lat. 35° 39′ 44′′ N., and Long. 136° 3′ 57′′ E. (According to the Japanese

Admiralty Chart No. 160.)

Description :-Square, iron lattice work, painted white.

Height of light-20 shaku above the base, 27 shaku above the water.

Character of light :-Acetylene gas occulting red, light two (2) seconds, eclipse one

and a half (1) seconds.

Illuminated arc:-The whole horizon.

Candle power:---48.

Visible distance:-7 nautical miles in clear night.
