A nunShaped Black and White Chequered buoy with a white staff, 74 feet high, has been established in 15 feet (Low Water Spring Sides) to mark the position of the Margarita Shoal in Latitude 9° 7′ 40′′ N., Lugitude 79° 23' 50" E. (Approx.)
Chuttrum Light bearing 11°.
First Island off Lands End 67°.
Peruvadum Temple 330°.
N.B. All bearings are true and expressed in degrees from zero (North) to 360°. Charts affected.-Sheet 1, No. 68a-Palk Strait and Gulf of Manar.

NOTICE is hereby given that the newly eastablished Hira-se Lighted Buoy on the W. side of Hira-se reef, W. Entrance to Shimonoseki Straight (See Notification No. 194 of Depart- ment of Communications, March, 1914), has been moored as follows on the 30th of March, 1914-
HIRA-SE LIGHTED BUOY.
Description:-Iron frustum of cone, black, surmounted by a lattice-work support-
ing a lantern.
Height of light :-About 10 shaku above the water.
Character of light-Pintsch's gas occulting green, light three (3) seconds eclipse
two (2) seconds.
-The whole horizon.
Illuminated are:-
Candle Power :-10.
Visible distance :-4 nautical miles in clear night. Depth of water :-About 8 fathoms at L. W. S. T. Magnetic bearings taken from the buoy :—
Manaita Beacon Light, Wakamatsu Lighthouse, Shira-su Lighthouse,
