Burmah. Hongkong declared a Plague-infected port.
Chittagong. Regulations for the prevention of the introduction of Plague
by sea enforced against arrivals from Hongkong.
Hongkong declared an infected port. Importation of the following articles from Hongkong or transshipped at this port is temporarily prohibited :-(1) wearing apparel, old and worn clothes, household effects for daily use, used - bedding, unless these goods are transported as personal luggage or in consequence of removal. (2) rags. Re- fuse of new goods coming direct from the weaving-mills, from workshops where apparel is made or from bleaching- establishments, artificial wool, and cuttings of new paper, are not considered as rags.
Quarantine up to 21 days according to the state of health on board the ships but subject to exemption on production of certificates legalised by the Netherlands Consul General at Hongkong.

No. S. 42. It is hereby notified that on the 16th, 17th and 18th February, 1914, being the days fixed for the Races at Wong-Nei-Chung, the following Regulations, under Ordinance No. 2 of 1869, will be in force:
I.-All traffic going to and from the Races at Wong-Nei-Chung will keep the ordinary rule of the road in Queen's Road East and Morrison Hill Gap Road. East of Arsenal Street all horses and vehicles will go by Queen's Road East and Morrison Hill Gap.
II.-Trucks, bearers of chairs and persons carrying burdens will also keep the ordinary rule of the road but as close to the side channel as possible, with the exception that east of Arsenal Street, they will proceed by Arsenal Street, Praya East, and along the Praya or by Wanchai Road east of No. 2 Station and the road west of Bowrington Canal.
III-Every person who shall ride or drive in a furious manner, or so as to endanger the life or limb of any person, or to the common danger of the passengers in any public road or thoroughfare is liable to a penalty.
IV.-All foot passengers between the Magistracy and Praya East are to walk only on the footpaths, and not on the roadway, except for the purpose of crossing.
V.No chairs or vehicles will be allowed to remain on the road between the boundaries of the Cemeteries and the Stands; neither is any vehicle to go at more than a slow pace at the same place.
