The bell provided into the water is to be acted by waves and its sound be received by a ship in which submarine signal receiver prepared.

The light, acetylene gas white, showing one flash every three (3) seconds and the bell, on the top of the buoy, are especially added for the purpose to keep off from a ship's collision.

No. S. 363.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of labour for Watering the Streets", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 2nd December, 1913, for the supply of labour for Watering the Streets in the City of Victoria for one year ending 28th February,

1915.

In dry weather one Chinese foreman and twenty coolies are required every day and they will be required to work eight hours a day.

Tenderers must produce a receipt that they have deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bonâ fides of their tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Board and also to give security by depositing a sum of $200 in the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in the name of the Honourable Colonial Treasurer: failing compliance with these requirements the sum deposited by the tenderer will be forfeited.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the Fish-refuse Contract", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 2nd December, 1913, for the daily collection and removal of fish-refuse from the Government Markets at Sai Ying Pun, Western, Central and Wanchai Districts, So Kon Po, Yaumati and Tsim Sha Tsui for the period of one year, from the 1st March next.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $25 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Board.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
