4. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 31st October, 1941 :-

(a) Heavy gun practice seawards between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00

p.m.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

(b) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00

midnight.

5. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing areas, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

HONG KONG.

Urgent Warnings for Shipping and W/T Time Signal.

Former Notices.-No. 134/1941 of the 23rd June, 1941, and No. 211/1941 of the

22nd September, 1941, hereby cancelled.

Details.-Until further notice urgent warnings for shipping, will be broadcast from Hong Kong (Station Z.B.W.) on 845 Kels and 9.52 Me/s immediately after the time signal at 0500 and 1200 hours G.M.T. which is 1330 and 2030 hours Hong Kong Winter Time.

Such warnings will also be broadcast at the conclusion of the evening

programme.

This procedure will be in addition to and not in substitution of the normal method of Communicating with Ships by W/T and will only be used in the case of urgent and important warnings.
