No. S. 437.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the maintenance and repair of and alterations and additions to Government Buildings", wilt be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 3rd day of November, 1911, for such works as may be ordered in the maintenance, repair, alterations and additions to Government Buildings in the Island of Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories during the year 1942.
As securities for the proper performance of the works under these contracts, the successful tenderers will be required to deposit, in cash, with the Accountant-General, the sums of :-
$8,000.00 for Central District;
$5,000.00 for Outside District;
$2,000.00 for New Territories District.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm,
A tender is received only on the condition that it shall remain open for acceptance for twenty-one clear days after the date of its submission.
For form of tender, specification, contract and further particulars apply at this Office.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a contract in the form supplied to tenderers.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The Government does not bind itself to place all work or any specific work required in the hands of the accepted contractor.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 20th October, 1941-
(a) Heavy gun practice seawards between the hours of 9.00 a.m..and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "B" will be affected.
Alternative dates-22nd and 23rd October, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00
midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
2. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 21st October, 1941 :-
(a) Heavy gun A. A. practice in the southern area of the Island between
the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Areas "C" and "D" will be affected.
