NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 6th October, 1941: --
(a) Light gun anti-aircraft practice in the south-eastern area of the Island
between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.
Firing Area B" will be affected.
Alternative dates-7th, 8th, 9th and 10th October, 1941.
(b) Heavy gun practice seawards between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative dates-9th and 10th October, 1941.
(c) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00
midnight.
Firing Areas D" and "E" will be affected.
2. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 7th October, 1941 :-
(a) Heavy gun practice seawards between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "D" will be affected.
Alternative date-9th October, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.00 p.m and 12.00
midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
3. Firing practice as under is notified for 8th October,
1941:
(a) Heavy gun anti-aircraft practice in south-western area of the Island
between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "D" will be affected.
Alternative dates-9th and 10th October, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00
midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
4. October 9th and 10th reserved between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. as alternative dates for Heavy gun practice seawards originally detailed for 4th October, 1941.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
5. Light gun practice seawards will be carried out between the hours of 5.00 p.m and 12.00 midnight.

Firing Areas "D" and E" will be affected.
6. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing areas, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
