NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Light gun firing practice seawards will be carried out on 29th and 30th Septem- ber, 1941, and 1st and 3rd October, 1941, between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
2. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 30th September, 1941, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.
Firing Area "D" will be affected.
Alternative date 1st October, 1941.
3. Heavy gun firing practice seawards will be carried out from various selected positions on the Island of Hong Kong on 2nd October, 1941, between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative date-3rd October, 1941.
4. Heavy gun firing practice will be carried out on 4th October, 1941, between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative dates-6th, 9th and 10th October, 1941.
5. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing areas, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
