Details. (1) The entrances to Manila and Subic Bays are dangerous on account of
mines.
(2) The entrance to Subic Bay Naval Defensive Sea Area is prohibited.
(3) The entrance to or departure from Manila Bay is permitted only
during daylight hours.
Directions.-(A) Incoming Vessels.
All vessels including small craft desiring to enter Manila Bay will pass Luzon Point or Taytayen Point at a distance of not less than 3 miles, thence proceed to a point bearing 221° (true) distant 8.1 miles from Corregidor Light, thence proceed directly to a point bearing 223° (true) distant 3 miles from Corregidor Light and lie to.
Vessels are warned not to drift to the northward or eastward of this point. A station ship flying the International Code Flag "S" will be in the general
locality of these points.
Upon sighting the station ship a black ball and your International Signal Letters are to be hoisted at the port yard arm. The black ball is to be kept hoisted until secured at destination. The station ship or other vessel will approach and give instructions by black shapes hoisted at the yard arm as follows:

One black ball over your International Letters means- Two black cones in a vertical line means-" Do Not Enter". Upon receiving the signal to enter proceed northward, through the point bearing 223° (true) distant 3 miles from Corregidor Light, to pass through a buoyed channel between La Monja and Corregidor Island.
The southern entrance of the buoyed channel bears 253 (true) distant 2.2 miles from Corregidor Light. The axis of this channel is North and South. The channel is marked by two Black Nun port hand buoys numbered one and three, and two Red Nun starboard hand buoys num- bered two and four.
After leaving this outer channel proceed and pass on your port hand a Black and White vertical striped Buoy located at a point bearing 305° (true) distant 2.5 miles from Corregidor Light. Upon passing this Black and White Vertical Striped Buoy proceed to the western entrance of a buoyed channel off Alasasin Point bearing 339° (true) distant 2.4 miles from Corregidor Light.
The axis of this channel is East and West. The channel is marked by two Black Nun port hand buoys numbered five and seven and two Red Nun starboard hand buoys numbered six and eight. After leaving this channel proceed by the most direct route to port.
Remarks.-(1) Vessels entering Manila Bay from seaward will have the right of
way through the Minefield Channels.
(2) All vessels will keep a sharp lookout for any and all United States Naval or other Public vessels for one and two letters International Code Signals. These signals must be obeyed immediately.
(3) Manila Bay will not normally be entered during a typhoon.
(4) The station ship at the outer station will maintain station as long as
weather conditions permit.
(5) Should distress or an emergency require a vessel to seek refuge in Manila Bay when no station vessel is on station, the above instructions should be followed implicitly.
