NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Heavy gun practice will be carried out on 23rd and 24th September, 1941, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Firing Area "B" will be affected.

Alternative dates-25th, 26th and 27th September, 1941.

2. Light gun practice seawards will be carried out on 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 26th September, 1941, between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12 midnight.

Firing Areas “D” and E" will be affected.

3. Light gun practice seawards will be carried out on 28th September, 1941, between the hours of 2.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Firing Area "A" will be affected.

6. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing areas, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

NOTICES TO MARINERS.

No. S. 405.-Mariners are hereby notified that as from Wednesday, 1st October, 1941, inclusive, the Hong Kong Time Signal will be broadcast by ZBW on medium and short waves, i.e. 845 kilocycles (355 metres) and 9.52 megacycles (31.49 metres), at 0500 and 1200 hours G.M.T., that is to say 1.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. Hong Kong Winter Time.

of water.
