An Ordinance to amend the Crown Rents (Apportionment)

Ordinance, 1936.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof. as follows:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Crown Rents (Apportionment) Amendment Ordinance, 1941.

2. The interpretation of "Section" in section 2 of the Crown Rents (Apportionment) Ordinance, 1936, is amended of 1936, s. 2. by the deletion of all words after the words "Land Office

in the sixth line thereof.

New Sub- section 9 (4) for Ordin- ance No. 4 of 1936.

3. Section 9 of the Crown Rents (Apportionment) Ordin- ance, 1936, is amended by the addition of the following sub- section at the end thereof :-

(4) Any section the rent whereof shall have been determined under this Ordinance shall, upon registration and notification of such determination, be deemed to be a Lot within the meaning of this Ordinance, for the purposes of any future application and determination made thereunder.

Objects and Reasons.

The principal Ordinance, No. 4 of 1936, makes no suitable provision for determination of rent on the application of the owner of the Remaining Portion of a section, in cases in which the rent of such section has already been deter- mined.

The Object of this Bill is to make such provision.
