No. S. 263.-It is hereby notified that the Chairman, Urban Council, is prepared to receive tenders for the purchase of a quantity of condemned stores (1 bicycle, 2 canvas sheets, 9 pieces of jade bangles, bells, boots, clothing etc.). The stores are at the Hong Kong Disinfecting Station, Caine Road, Hong Kong, and are open for inspec- tion from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
For tender forms and full particulars, apply to the Secretary, Urban Council.
Tenders which must be on the official forms supplied should be addressed to the Chairman, Urban Council, in sealed envelopes and should reach the Urban Council Offices not later than noon of 31st July, 1941, accompanied by a Treasury Receipt for $10 as a pledge of the bona fides of the offer.
The Chairman, Urban Council, does not bind himself to accept the highest or any tender.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Firing practice as under is notified for 16th June, 1941: -
(a) Heavy gun practice between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
(b) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
2. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 17th June, 1941 :—
(a) Heavy anti-aircraft firing practice in the western area of the Island between
the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.
Firing Areas "D" and E" will be affected. Alternative dates-18th and 19th June, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
3. Firing practice as under is notified for 18th June, 1941 :—
(a) Heavy gun practice between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative dates-19th and 20th June, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
4. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 20th June, 1941, between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
5. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
