MAGISTRATES, AMENDMENT BILL.- -The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the Second reading of the Bill entitled An Ordinance to amend the Magistrates Ordinance, 1890.

On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill has passed through Committee without amendment and moved that it be read a third time.

SUGAR CONVENTION BILL.-The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the Second reading of the Bill entitled An Ordinance to repeal the Sugar Convention Ordinance, 1904.

APPROPRIATION BILL FOR 1914.-The Colonial Secretary addressed the Council and moved the Second reading of the Bill entitled An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding Eight million eight hundred and ninety-six thousand eight hundred and seventy-six Dollars to the Public Service of the year 1914.

The Colonial Treasurer seconded.

Messrs. HEWETT, SHELLIM and LANDALE, the Director of Public Works, the Colonial Treasurer and His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government addressed the Council.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a second time.

The Colonial Secretary moved that the Bill be referred to the Finance Committee.

The Colonial Treasurer seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

ADJOURNMENT.-The Council then adjourned until Thursday, the 30th October, 1913.
