HONG KONG VOLUNTEER DEFENCE CORPS.
No. S. 190.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should. be clearly marked "Tender for Clothing, H.K.V.D.C.", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 5th day of May, 1941, for the supply and delivery of Clothing required by the Unit, up to 31st day of May, 1942.
Each Tenderer must produce with his tender a receipt for the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50) which he has deposited with the Accountant-General as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender. The deposit will be returned to the Tenderer later, whether his tender is accepted or not.
For form of tender and further particulars apply to the Adjutant, Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, Headquarters, Garden Road.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

No. S. 191. It is hereby notified, that separate tenders in triplicate, which should be sealed and clearly marked Tender for the collection of Swill", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 5th May, 1941, for the collection of swill from the Hong Kong Prison, Stanley, for one year from 16th May, 1941.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $10 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such person refuses to carry out his tender in the event of his tender being accepted. Deposits will be returned when the name of the successful tenderer is published.

No tender will be considered unless submitted in triplicate on the form provided,
The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign an agreement and to comply with any instructions given by the Commissioner of Prisons as to the method of collection. He will be called upon to give security to the satisfaction of the Government in the sum of $100.
