No. S. 126.--lt is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for making Uniforms for the Railway Department", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 24th day of March, 1941, for the making up of uniforms for the use of the Railway Department from 1st April, 1941 to 31st March, 1942.

Each tenderer must produce a receipt that he has deposited with the Chief Accountant, Railway, the sum of $25 as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should such tender be accepted. The deposit receipt must be attached to the tender.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract and to give security for the sum of $200 in cash to be deposited with the Accountant-General for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such contract.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars may be obtained from the Manager, Railway Offices, Kowloon.

HONG KONG VOLUNTEER DEFENCE CORPS, Headquarters, Hong Kong.

No. S. 127.--It is hereby notified that scaled tenders in triplicate, which must be clearly marked "Tender for Labour, Provisions, Stores, etc. H.K.V.D.C.", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, 24th March, 1941, for provision of supplies, stores, labour, provisions, including the supply of cooking, preparing and eating utensils, cooks, serving boys and coolies. The whole of the fore- going will be required by the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps during the period 4th May, 1941, to 18th October, 1941, and will include supplies for daily training and week-end camps, etc. as may be ordered from day to day. Nett prices must be quoted for all Provisions and these must include their cost of delivery to Volunteer Head- quarters, Garden Road.

Each tenderer must produce with his tender a receipt for the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300), which he has deposited with the Accountant-General, as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender. This deposit will be returned to the Tenderer later, whether his tender is accepted or not.

The successful Tenderer will be required to deposit the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) with the Accountant-General, which sum will be forfeited to the Crown should the Tenderer refuse, or fail, to carry out to the satisfaction of the Government the whole or any part of the tender which may be accepted. Each tenderer must quote for each and every item on the tender form but the Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender and reserves to itself the right of accepting ALL or ANY PART of a tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars may be had on application to the Adjutant, Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, Garden Road.
