No. S. 93. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Transportation of Government Stores ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 10th day of March, 1941, for the collection, transportation and delivery of Government Stores during the period. 1st April, 1941 to 30th June, 1941.

Tenderers must produce with each tender a receipt that they have deposited with the Accountant-General at the Treasury, 3rd floor, Windsor House, the sum of Dollars Fifty (50) as a pledge of the bona fides of their tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should such tender be accepted. The deposit shall be returned to any tenderer whose tender is not accepted.

Successful tenderers will be required to deposit with the Accountant-General the sum of Dollars Five Hundred ($500), as security for the due and faithful performance of the Contract.

Forms of Tender and further particulars may be obtained at the Office of the Controller of Stores, Government Stores Department, 249, Electric Road, North Point.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender, and reserves to itself the right of accepting ALL OR ANY PART OF A TENDER.

No. 8. 94.-Sealed tenders in triplicate which should be clearly marked Tenders for the supply of Coal", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, 10th March, 1941, for the supply of Coal to the Government of Hong Kong during the period 1st April, 1941 to 31st March, 1942.

The quantity of coal will vary according to requirements, and prices should be quoted for each of the following grades :--

(a) Anthracite Coal about 200 tons.

(b) Household Coal (Double Screened) about 2,000 tons.

(c) Launch Dust Coal about 10,000 tons.

(d) 80% Lump Coal for Pumping Stations, and Quarries, &c., about 6,500 tons.

1. Prices quoted should be on the basis of current rates of freight and insurance. The contract to be signed will provide for the variation of the price in accordance with any increase or reduction in freight and/or insurance and will provide that in the event of any such increase the contract may be determined by the Government.

2. Before final acceptance of the tenders, tenderers must be prepared to forward to the Government Analyst on demand, samples of the Coal offered.

3. The origin and name of the Coal should be stated in each case. The prices quoted should include delivery charges to destination. Free storage will not be provided.
