The velocity of the wind in the typhoon of August 17th, 1913, (86 m.p.h. by the Beckley Anemograph) has only been exceeded on three occasions since the records com- menced, namely:-
1884 September 10, 89 m.p.h.
1896 July 29, 108 m.p.h.
1900 November 10, 90 m.p.h.
The Maximum velocity in the typhoon of 1906, September 18th was 77 m.p.h., and in the typhoon of 1908, July 28th was 81 m.p.h.
