It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Stubbs Road -Reconstruction at Magazine Gap", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 10th day of February, 1941. The Contract comprises the supply of all plant, materials and labour required for carrying out the reconstruction of Stubbs Road at Magazine Gap and includes for all necessary excavation, filling, surface drainage, surfacing and contingent works.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $5,000 with the
Accountant-General.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
No work will be permitted on Sundays.
For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Heavy gun Anti-Aircraft firing practice will be carried out between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. on the 28th and 29th January, 1941, in the Western area of the Island.
Firing Areas "D" and E will be affected.
2. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
