Order.

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by regulation 50 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, I, the CONTROLLER OF FOOD, with the consent of His 'Excellency the Governor hereby make the following order---

The Food (Price) Control Order, 1941.

1. This order may be cited as the Food (Price) Control Order, 1941.

2. In this order, food" includes every article or substance used for food or drink, other than drugs, and also every living thing capable of being consumed as food.

3. (1) The maximum price at which any food may be sold, by a wholesaler or retailer, shall be the maximum sale price fixed therefor by any order in force on 29th November, 1941, or, if no maximum sale price was fixed at that date, then the price at which, on any date not later than the said 29th November, 1941, the wholesaler or retailer, as the case may be, last sold food of that description.

(2) Sub-paragraph (1) of this paragraph shall not apply to the sale of any food in respect of which a maximum sale price is fixed by any subsequent order.

4. All previous orders made by me and fixing a maximum sale price for food are hereby rescinded.
