5. In sub-section (2) of section two-

(a) the words the Governor by Order

6. The proviso to sub-section (3) of section two shall, in so far as it relates to enactments being statutes or part of statutes made in the territory, have effect as if the words the Governor may by Order" were substituted for the words His Majesty may by Order in Council".

7. In sub-section (4) of section two the words or Order be inserted between the words Order in Council

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor amends the Jury Ordinance, No. 6 of 1887, by the insertion therein of the following section immediately after section 8—

SA. Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 7 and 8 it shall not be necessary in the year 1942 to form the lists of common and special jurors and to bring such lists into operation but the lists settled and brought into use in the year 1941 shall, unless otherwise ordered, continue in force until the respective lists settled in the year 1943 are duly brought into use.
