INSTRUCTIONS MADE BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR UNDER THE CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS REGULATIONS, 1941, PRESCRIBING THE PERIOD OF ENROLMENT AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE OF MEMBERS OF THE AUXILIARY COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE.

Control
Enrolment and length of service.
1. These Instructions may be cited as the Hong Kong Auxiliary Communications Service Instructions, 1941.
2. In these Instructions-
(a) "Service"
Service;
means the Auxiliary Communications
(b) Director means the person for the time being appointed by the Governor to the office of Director of the Service;
(c) Deputy Directors means the officers who for the time being hold the office of Deputy Directors of the Service; (d) officers' means the Director, the Deputy Direc- tors, and other officers appointed by the Director;

(e) "members means all persons who are enrolled or appointed for service or who may be required to serve in the Service, irrespective of rank ;
(f)Service equipment" includes steel helnets, respira- tors, accoutrements, badges, armlets and other gear and effects supplied by the Government and issued to a member of the Service;

(g) the period of the present emergency
means the
period ending with such date as the Governor may by order declare to be the date on which the emergency which was the occasion of the making of the Civil Defence Corps Regula- tions, 1941, came to an end.
3. The Service shall consist of a Director and such members as may from time to time be appointed or enrolled.
4. The Director, subject to the directions of the Governor and the provisions of these Instructions, shall be charged with the control of the Service.
5. The Director may enrol in the Service for a period not exceeding the period of the present emergency such persons as qualify for enrolment, in accordance with the regulations for the time being in force, and offer their services, and every person so enrolled shall become a member of the Service and be subject to the provisions of these Instructions provided that he signs the following declaration-
"I have read or had explained to me the Hong Kong Auxiliary Communications Service Instructions, 1941, and I agree to carry out such duties, general or partic- ular, as may be allotted to me by duly authorized officers of the Service and to abide by the said Instructions."
