ORDINANCE No. 18 of 1936. (TELECOMMUNICATION).
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 7 (2) (a) of the Telecommunication Ordinance, 1936, the Governor in Council makes the following amendments to the rates published in Notification No. 235 in the Government Gazette of 31st March, 1939, as lastly amended by Government Notification No. 419 in the Government Gazette of 19th April, 1940.
Amendments.
1. Regulation 2 (1) (a) is amended by substituting the figures "70" for the figures "75" before the word "cents".
2. Regulation 2 (1) (b) is amended by substituting the figures "85" for the figures "90" before the word "cents".
3. Regulation 3 is amended by substituting the figures "55" for the figures "60" in the fourth line thereof.
The above rates shall come into force on 1st September, 1941.

ORDINANCE No. 23 of 1917. (BOARDING-HOUSE).
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Boarding-House Ordinance, 1917, the Governor in Council amends the rules made under the said Ordinance, appearing on pages 840 to 853 of Volume III of the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 edition) as follows:-
Amendments.
The following new rule is added after rule 35:
36. As regards Class I, Class II, and Class VII boarding- houses situated in the New Territories, except New Kowloon, these rules shall be read and construed--

(i) as if the words District Officer" appeared instead of the words "Secretary for Chinese Affairs" and the words Health Officer as defined in the Public Health (Food) Ordin- ance, 1935 instead of the words "Chairman of the Urban Council",

(ii) as if the figures "$200", $200" and $100' appeared in the Second Schedule as the amount of the Security to be furnished for such boarding-houses instead of the figures "$1,000", "$1,000" and "$500" respectively,

(iii) as if the figures $100", $25" and "$2" appeared in the Second Schedule as the annual fee for such boarding-houses instead of the figures "$1,200 ", " and $10" respectively.
