No. 990.-His Majesty the KING has not been advised to exercise his disallowance with respect to the following Ordinance :-

Ordinance No. 4 of 1941.--An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding Fifty- two million four hundred and eighty-three thousand two hundred and ninety-four Dollars to the Public Service of the financial year begin- ning on the 1st April, 1941, and ending on the 31st March, 1942, and also to apply an addi- tional sum not exceeding Eight hundred and thirty-two thousand Dollars to the Waterworks Renewals and Improvements Fund for the service of that Fund in the said financial year.

No. 991. His Majesty the KING has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Honourable Mr. STANLEY HUDSON DODWELL to be an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council for a period of five years, with effect from the 21st September, 1940.

No. 992.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. BENJAMIN DAVIES EVANS, F.R.A.S., F.R.Met.Soc., to be Director of the Royal Observatory, with effect from 22nd June, 1941.

No. 993.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. CECIL GRAHAM PERDUE to be Defence Security Officer, with effect from 17th June, 1941,

No. 994. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance, No. 21 of 1934, to appoint Mr. MALCOLM MCDONALD SWAN to be a Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths, with effect from 20th August, 1941.

No. 995.-It is hereby notified that Mr. DICK FREDRICK ATTREE WAKEFORD WESMAN, Consul for Norway at Hong Kong, resumed charge of the Norwegian Consulate on 16th August, 1941.
