Ordinance No. 32 of 1940.-An Ordinance to regulate the entry and departure of persons into and out of the Colony, to pro- hibit the entry of undesirable immigrants, and to confer various powers in connexion there- with.

No. 930. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR GRENFELL CLARKE to be Principal Assistant Colonial Secretary and Clerk of Councils, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. THOMAS MEGARRY or until further notice, with effect from 2nd August, 1941.

No. 931.-It is hereby notified that Mr. THOMAS BLACK resumed duty as Commis- sioner of War Taxation, with effect from 1st August, 1941.

No. 932.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. CYRIL ROGERS to be Economic Adviser to the Government of Hong Kong on matters concerning Currency and Exchange Control.

No. 933.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotions in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 1st August, 1941:-
