COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, His Excellency the Governor further amends the Defence (Finance) Regulations, 1940, published as Government Notification 328 in the Gazette of 21st March, 1940, as amended by Government Notification 893 of 26th July, 1941, as follows-

Amendments.

1. Regulation 2 (1) is amended by the repeal of the proviso at the end thereof.

2. Regulation 4 (1) is amended by the substitution of the word person for the words British subject" in the second line of paragraph (a) and the first line of paragraph (b) thereof.

3. The following new regulation is inserted immediately after regulation 4-

4. Regulation 5 (1) is amended-

(a) by the substitution of the word person for the words "British subject" in the first line; and

(b) by the insertion of the words "unless the Governor otherwise directs" immediately after the word "shall" in the fourth line thereof.

5. Regulation 5 (3) is amended by the substitution of the word person "for the words "British subject" in the first line thereof.
