The following is published for general information :-
It is hereby notified that a new and revised Price List of foodstuffs is at present in course of preparation and that all firms, hongs, companies and individuals who import any of the articles listed below, and who have not already obtained approved maximum retail prices for such articles, are required to notify this office in writing on or before 31st July, 1941.
All firms, hongs, companies and individuals should note that when making application to this office for controlled prices it is necessary for them to submit covering invoices and full details as regards the landed cost, landing charges and storage charges of the articles concerned.
It is further notified that although it is not at present proposed to exercise control over the price of every type of bread, a maximum price will be fixed by the Prices Board for "Finest Quality Bread (Toast and Sandwich Loaf)”.
The articles for which retail prices are now subject to control are as follows:-
Milk, and milk products including butter, cream, ghee,
cheddar cheese, and cheese of Kraft type.
Tinned corned beef.
Tinned Pork and Beans.
Tinned Sardines.
Tinned Salmon.
Margarine, lard and other fats used for food.
Rolled oats, and oatmeal.
Sugar.
