It is notified for general information that, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by an order of His Excellency the Governor relating to exit permits published in the Gazette of 4th July, 1941, as Government Notification 806, the Colonial Secretary has exempted from that order the following classes of persons-

1.

persons of Chinese race;

2. members of the crews of ships and aircraft which are

leaving the Colony;

3. transit passengers leaving the Colony without trans-

shipment;

4.

persons under the age of sixteen years;

5.

members of His Majesty's armed forces, on duty;

6.

civilian personnel, on duty, employed by the naval

and military authorities.

Order.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regulation 46 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, His Excellency the Governor amends the order relating to ships' manifests published in the Gazette Extraordinary of 2nd September, 1939, as Government Notification 738 by the addition thereto of the following paragraphs-

3. The provisions of this order shall have effect notwith- standing anything in the regulations under the Importation and Exportation Ordinance, 1915, or the Registration of Imports and Exports Ordinance, 1922.

4. In this order, "agents

agents" in relation to a ship shall be deemed to include the owners and charterers of the ship.
