In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts. 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, His Excellency the Governor makes the following regulations-
The Hong Kong Daylight Saving
Regulations, 1941.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Hong Kong Daylight-Saving Regulations, 1941.
2. In these regulations--

Hong Kong Summer time”, on any date between the first day of April and thirtieth day of September, both inclu- sive, means exactly nine hours in advance of Greenwich mean time, that is to say one hour in advance of the mean time of the 120th meridian east of Greenwich and one hour in advance of standard time.
"Hong Kong Winter time", on any date between the first day of October and the thirty-first day of March, both inclusive, means exactly eight and one half hours in advance of Greenwich mean time, that is to say one half-hour in advance of the mean time of the 120th meridian east of Greenwich and one half-hour in advance of standard time.
3. Notwithstanding anything contained in section 28 of the Interpretation Ordinance, 1911. (Ordinance No. 31 of 1911) whenever any expression of time occurs in any enact- ment or in any legal document, the time referred to, unless the contrary intention appears, shall be held, according to the date thereof, to be either Hong Kong Summer time or Hong Kong Winter time, as such date may require.
4. These regulations shall come into force on the 15th day of June. 1941, with effect from 3 A.M. standard time on that date.
