It is hereby notified for general information that His Excellency the Governor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by regulation 4 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, has authorized each and every air raid warden of and above the rank of group warden to be an authorized officer for the purposes of regulation 71 of the said regulations.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, His Excellency the Governor makes the following regulations—
The Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, Amendment Regulations, 1941.
1. These regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, Amendment Regulations,
1941.
2.-(1) The operation of sub-section (9) of section 75 of the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, shall be suspended while these regulations remain in force.
(2) Notwithstanding anything in paragraph (1), the Governor may by notification in the Gazette declare that the said sub-section (9) shall cease to be suspended and there- upon, on such day as may be named in the notification or, if no day be named, then on the publication thereof, the said sub-section (9) shall revive and be of full force and effect accordingly.
