No. 268.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. WILLIAM HERBERT EVANS THOMAS, C.B.E., to the panel for a Board of Review pursuant to Section 40 of the War Revenue Ordinance, No. 13 of 1940, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. REGINALD ALBERT CAmIDGE.

No. 269.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. THOMAS JACKSON HOUSTON to be District Officer in the Northern District of the New Territories, with effect from 7th March, 1941.

No. 270.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to authorize Mr. THOMAS JACKSON HOUSTON, under the provisions of section 58 of the New Territories Regulation Ordinance, 1910, Ordinance No. 34 of 1910, to hold a Small Debts Court in the New Territories at the following places

The Magistracy, Tai Po, the Land Office, Ping Shan, and the charge rooms of the Police Stations at Au Tau, Ping Shan, Sha Tau Kok, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Sheung Shui, Lok Ma Chau and Castle Peak, with effect from 7th March, 1941.

No. 271.-Ilis Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. SAMUEL LEWIS LLOYD to act as Organizer of the General Group for Essential Services in the Hong Kong Defence Reserve, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. JOHN KEITH BOUSFIELD, M.C.

No. 272.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, under section 3 (1) of the Vaccination Ordinance, 1923, Ordinance No. 12 of 1923, to appoint Miss HELEN WONG () to be a Temporary Public Vaccinator, with effect from 26th February, 1941.

No. 273. With reference to Government Notification No. 1300 published in the Gazette of the 29th November, 1940, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has received information from the Secretary of State for the Colonies that Mr. SEIKI YANO has been appointed Japanese Consul-General at Hong Kong.
