COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
In exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government amends the Defence Regulations, 1940, published in the Gazette Extraordinary of 25th June, 1940, as Government Notification No: 709, as follows—
Amendment.
Regulation 18, as amended by Government Notification 758 of 5th July, 1940, is rescinded and the following regula- tion substituted-

18. (1) The Governor, if satisfied, with respect to any Restriction particular person, that with a view to preventing his acting detention in any manner prejudicial to public safety or defence it is orders. necessary so to do, may make an order---
(a) prohibiting or restricting the possession or use by that person of any specified articles;
