APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 89. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. ROLAND ARTHUR CHARLES NORTH to act as Colonial Secretary, with effect from 25th January, 1941.

No. 90.--His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. BRIAN CHARLES KEITH HAWKINS to act as Secretary for Chinese Affairs, in addition to his other duties, with effect from 25th January, 1941.

No. 91. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint the Honourable Mr. ALEXANDER BRUCE PURVES to be Accommodation Officer, vice HENRY JOSEPH PEARCE, Esq., M.C., with effect from 19th January, 1941.

No. 92.-It is hereby notified that Mr. SEIKI YANO, Consul-General for Japan at Hong Kong, resumed charge of the Consulate-General for Japan on 23rd January, 1941.

No. 93. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, under section 2 of the Fire Brigade Ordinance, No. 20 of 1923, to appoint Mr. W. M. SMITH to act as Deputy Chief Officer, Fire Brigade, with effect from 1st January, 1941, and until further notice.

No. 94. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to make the following appointment in the Hong Kong Police Reserve, with effect from 14th January, 1941 :—

Mr. MAURICE ALFRED JOHNSON, O.B.E., M.M., to be Assistant Superintendent of

Police Reserve.

No. 95. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been. pleased to make the following appointment in the Hong Kong Police Reserve, with effect from the 21st January, 1941 :---

Mr. LEONARD JOHN DAVIES to be Assistant Superintendent of Police (Reserve).

No. 96.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to make, under regulation 9 of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, the following appointment in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force :-

To be Acting Sub-Lieutenant.
