AND WHEREAS a new duty would be imposed on certain hydrocarbon oils and the duty on certain other hydrocarbon oils would be altered, and such new and altered duties would become the duties on the hydrocarbon oils appearing in such resolution if the same became law;
Now I, the Officer Administering the Government, under the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Public Revenue Protection Ordinance, 1927, as interpreted by section 39A of the Interpretation Ordinance, 1911, do hereby make this Order giving full force and effect to the provisions of such resolution as from nine o'clock a.m. on Thursday the sixteenth day of January, 1941, for so long as this Order remains in force.

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL RESOLUTION.
HYDROCARBON OILS DUTIES RESOLUTION.
RESOLVED pursuant to section 4 of the Dutiable Com- modities Ordinance, 1931, as follows-
That the DUTIES ON HYDROCARBON OILS set forth in the Resolution of the Legislative Council published as Govern- ment Notification No. 841 in the Gazette of 26th July, 1940, as varied by Government Notification No. 1216 published in the Gazette of 7th November, 1940, be revoked with effect from nine o'clock a.m. on Thursday, the sixteenth day of January, 1941, and that thereafter duty shall be payable on hydrocarbon oils at the following rates per gallon
(1) on light oils
80 cents
(2) on heavy oils to be used as fuel for any
heavy oil road vehicle
40 cents
(3) on other hydrocarbon oils
10 cents
