No. S. 287.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Repairs to No. 5 Police Launch", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Friday, the 20th instant.

Specifications can be obtained at the Government Marine Surveyor's Office.

Repairs to be executed to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

SANITARY DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 288.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the Blood and Hair Contract, Ma Tau Kok", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 24th September, 1912, for the daily collection and removal of blood and hair from the Slaughter House situated at Ma Tau Kok in the Kowloon Peninsula, for the period of one year, from the 1st January next.

The contractor shall at all times keep the Slaughter House in a thorough state of clean- liness, for which service he shall maintain as many coolies as may, in the opinion of the Sanitary Board, be necessary, but the number shall in no case be less than three, one of whom shall be employed as a fireman.

The contractor shall also provide the necessary brooms and baskets.

No tender will be considered, unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Board and also to give security by depositing a sum of $500 in the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in the name of the Colonial Treasurer: failing compliance with these requirements the sum deposited by the tenderer will be forfeited.

No. S. 289.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the Blood and Hair Contract, Kennedy Town", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 24th September, 1912, for the daily collection and removal of blood and hair from the Slaughter House situated at Kennedy Town in the City of Victoria, for the period of one year, from the 1st January next.

The contractor shall at all times keep the Slaughter House in a thorough state of clean- liness, for which service he shall maintain as many coolies as may, in the opinion of the Sanitary Board, be necessary, but the number shall in no case be less than nine, one of whom shall be employed as a fireman.
