NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
Firing practice will be carried out from Pakshawan Battery on night 28th/29th October, 1937, commencing at 6 p.m. on Thursday, 28th October.
Alternative nights-29th/30th October, 1937, and Saturday, 30th October, com mencing at 6 p.m.
Firing Area "A" will be affected.
Firing practice will be carried out from Stonecutters West Battery on night 29th/30th October, 1937, commencing at 6 p.m. on Friday, 29th October.
Alternative night—Saturday, 30th October, 1937, commencing at 6 p.m.
Firing Area "E" will be affected.
In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the Firing Area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the Firing Area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

No. S. 341.-Sealed tenders in quadruplicate which should be clearly marked "Tenders for the supply of Coal to the Hong Kong Government", will be received at the Treasury until Noon of Monday, 1st November, 1937, for the supply of Coal to the Government for a period of one year as from 1st January, 1938.
The quantity of coal will vary according to requirements, and prices should be quoted for each of the following grades:-
(a) Anthracite Coal about 150 tons.
(b) Household Coal (Double Screened) about 1,800 tons.
(c) Launch Dust Coal about 10,000 tons.
(d) 80% Lump Coal for Pumping Stations, and Quarries, &c., about 8,300 tons.
1. Before final acceptance of the tenders, tenderers must be prepared to forward to the Government Analyst on demand, samples of the Coal offered.
