An Ordinance to amend the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordin-
ance, 1935.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Health Short title. (Sanitation) Amendment Ordinance, 1937.

2. Section 6 of the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, Amendment 1935, is amended by the addition of the following proviso at No. 15 of the end thereof :-
Provided that the Governor may appoint Malarial Inspectors or Inspectors for other special purposes, who shall have the powers of officers of the Sanitary Department under this Ordinance but shall be grouped under the Malariologist, or such other officer as the Governor may direct, under the general direction of the Director of Medical Services.

Objects and Reasons.
1. Section 6 of the principal Ordinance provides for the grouping of Inspectors under the Health Officers. Although this practice is convenient in the case of ordinary Sanitary Inspectors it is more convenient to group Malarial Inspectors under the Malariologist.
2. This amending Bill adds a proviso to section 6 of the principal Ordinance enabling Malarial Inspectors to be grouped under the Malariologist and Inspectors appointed for other special purposes to be grouped under such other officer as the Governor may direct.
