AMENDMENT TO AIR PUBLICATION 1529.
The following amendments should be incorporated in all copies or Air Publication 1529 ("Abbreviations to be used in the Civil Aeronautical Radio Service').
1. With reference to Note (ii) on page 3, the abbrevia- tions "ASC" and "DES" have now been approved for inter- national use but only in connection with the group QBF.
2. The following note has been added to the group QBF (pages 6 and 31):-
QBF used alone in the reply signifies that the aircraft is flying in clouds at a constant height. Followed by “ASC” it signifies that the aircraft is flying in clouds and climbing. Followed by "DES" it signifies that the aircraft is flying in clouds and descending. A figure inserted immediately after QBF indicates the height of flight; a figure inserted after "ASC" or "DES" indicates the future height which the aircraft proposes to reach.
3. The following has been substituted for Note (i) to the group QFS (pages 11 and 35):-
The abbreviation QFS may be completed by the groups “ATT” “NAV” and "REP" (landing, navigation and location radiobeacons). In case of doubt, the radiobeacon concerned can be indicated by giving the call sign, frequency or wave- length.
4. The meaning of the group QFX (pages 11 and 25) has been amended to read as follows:
