ORDINANCE No. 6 of 1901. (RATING).
It is hereby ordered that a valuation of the tenements in Hong Kong, Aplichau, Kowloon and New Kowloon for the year commencing 1st July, 1938, shall be made before the 30th day of April, 1938, or as soon thereafter as may be.

ORDINANCE No. 34 of 1910.
(NEW TERRITORIES
REGULATION).`
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6A (1) of the New Territories Regulation Ordinance, 1910, and of all other powers in that behalf enabling, the Governor in Council makes the following regulations :---
1. In these Regulations-
(a) "Employer" includes every person who and every firm which enters into a contract of personal service, written or verbal, for any period of time with any labourer, and the agent of such person or firm.
(b) "Health officer" means a health officer under the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935.
(c) "Labourer" includes every person employed for the purpose of personally performing any manual labour, except a domestic servant, gardener or agricultural labourer.
(d) "Lines" means any building or shed used or intended to be used temporarily or permanently for the housing of labourers.
2. All lines shall be situated, erected and maintained to the satisfaction of the Director of Medical Services and con- structed of such materials as he may approve.
