Exchange of British

Dollars for

Hong Kong Currency before 1st August, 1937.

Repeal of Ordinance No. 54 of 1935, s. 9.

7. Every person holding, whether on his own account or on account of any other person, any British Dollars may surrender the same to the Treasurer before the first day of August, 1937. The Treasurer shall pay for such dollars, surrendered before the said date, in Hong Kong currency at their face value.

4. Section 9 of the Currency Ordinance, 1935, is repealed.

No. 439.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to make the following appointments during the absence on leave of His Honour Sir ALASDAIR DUNCAN ATHOLL MacGregor, Kt., K.C., or until further notice, with effect from the 26th June, 1937 :-

The Honourable Mr. CHALONER GRENVILLE ALABASTER, O.B.E., K.C., to act as

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court;

Mr. JOHN ALEXANDER FRASER, M.C., Barrister-at-law, to act as Attorney

General;

Mr. ERNEST HILLAS WILLIAMS, Barrister-at-law, to act as Crown Solicitor; Mr. JOHN WHYATT, Barrister-at-law, to act as Assistant Attorney General.

No. 440.- His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. ABBAS EL ARCULLI to be a Member of the Board of Education for a further period of two years, with effect from the 8th July, 1937.
