(4) The following regulation is added after regulation 38 (enacted by Government Notification No. 742 of 1936):- raud 39. Notwithstanding anything contained in these regula- tions, where an officer in the service of this Colony or in other publie service on the date when this regulation came into force shall before that date have served in a civil capacity otherwise than in a pensionable office, then, if it shall be to his advantage, his pension may be calculated on the condi- tions which would have applied immediately before such date.
