His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under the provisions of Statute 4 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, to nominate Mr. GEOFFREY SAMUEL ARCHBUTT as a Member of the Court of the University of Hong Kong during the absence from the Colony of Mr. FRANCIS JOHN DE ROME, M.B.E., with effect from 5th February, 1937.

No. 117.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of paragraph 1 of Statute 7 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordin- ance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, Professor GEORGE THOMAS BYRNE, M.Sc., F.I.C., to be an additional member of the Council of the University of Hong Kong for a period one year, with effect from 1st February, 1937.

With reference to Government Notifications No. 469 of the 22nd May, No. 803 of the 2nd October, No. 850 of the 23rd October, and No. 871 of the 30th October, 1936, it is hereby notified that Roumania has acceded to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1929, and that in accordance with Article 64 of the Convention the accession will take effect on the 26th February, 1937.
