3. Standing Law Committee. His Excellency the Governor appointed the follow- ing to be Members of the Standing Law Committee for 1937 :-The Hon. Attorney General (Chairman), the Hon. Secretary for Chinese Affairs, the Hon. Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, Kt., K.C., the Hon. Mr. Ts'o SEEN-WAN, C.B.E., LL.D., and the Hon. Mr. Lo MAN-KAM.

4. The Colonial Secretary laid on the table the Report of the Finance Committee
(No. 12), dated 30th December, 1936, and moved its adoption.

5. Telecommunication Amendment Bill. The Attorney General moved the Second reading of a Bill intituled An Ordinance to amend the Telecommunication Ordinance, 1936,”

On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill had passed through Committee without amendment, and moved that it be read a third time.

6. Hong Kong Government Service (Levy on Salaries) Bill.-The Attorney General moved the Second reading of a Bill intituled An Ordinance to make provision for a temporary percentage levy on the salaries of public officers in the Hong Kong Government Service and to provide for the exchange rate at which sterling salaries, when paid in the Colony, are to be converted." The Colonial Secretary seconded.
